Kairouan has magnificent Islamic architecture and its Great Mosque is the most revered in Africa. The Mausoleum of the Barber, so called because it is said that the holy man always carried with him three hairs from the bear of the prophet to bring him good luck, is a real mosaic reflecting the harmony of carved wood, stucco work and colorful ceramics.

The Aghlabites Pools are a witness of the development of the hydraulic system in the 9th century A.D. Visitors can admire the skill of the local women at the centre of woven rugs. Actually, visitors can delve in the history of the Muslim religion by visiting this holy city.
