If you want to exclusively shop for pottery, go to the heart of Nabeul. Even if you don't buy anything, you can just admire the beautiful pottery created here. There are also some interesting shops around the tourist office. The main street and the souk near the Grand Mosque have lots of Hammamet shops too. This very busy and colourful area is full of shops and workshops. Apart from this, there is a bazaar that happens every Friday morning. Here you will find a mind boggling collection of items being sold - anything you can imagine, be it cattle or vibrant belly dance outfits!

The beautiful old town of Hammamet has the souk or the bazaar, which is the most recommended place for shopping in Hammamet. Shopping in the Medina

The Medina area is characterised by dozens of busy narrow lanes with shops that sell a wide range of items like clothes, local handicrafts comprising carpets, leather items and earthenware. These shops, known as souqs, cater mostly to the tourists and the ware is intentionally priced very high to make room for bargaining, which is actually the best way to shop at such places. Just a tip: Bargain if you really intend to buy. Don't turn away after intense haggling - you may annoy the locals. To avoid any unpleasantness, decide on your budget and how much the product might actually be worth before venturing into a discussion over the price.

The brightly coloured earthen ware like pots, vases and tiles sold at Cap Bon are a good buy. Leather products and jewellery are also good to take home with you. The beautifully carved wooden bowls and the good quality olive oil make interesting souvenirs. The quality of the olive oil is very good and it comes at a surprisingly low price. Make it a point to buy some of the fantastic spices and herbs sold here.
