Equestrian Caballus Club

Equestrian Caballus Club is the unique in the region of Cap Bon. It is affiliated with the Tunisian Federation of the Sports Equestres (F.T.S.E) and is accepted by the Ministry of Tourism.

Situated at 8 kilometers from the city of Nabeul, it offers many possibilities for those who like horses, from taking care of the animals by washing and feeding them to riding into the managed area of the club or the surrounding olive tree farms around or having the hole day riding in the forest nearby. Guest can even have a night outside under the stars or even more make a hole round 6-night horse-riding trip around Cap Bon Peninsula.
Itinerary

Day 1:

  • Arrive at the airport.
  • Transfer to the hotel by minibus.
  • Be introduced to the persons in charge of the equestrian raid.
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2:

  • Club Caballus - Bouchrik (27 km).
  • Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Club Caballus by minibus (place where the raid departs). Discover horses and prepare for the departure. Departure from Club Caballus. Passage by the barrier of Oued El Kebir. Passage by the barrier of Oued Chiba. At Bouchrik, enjoy a typically Tunisian dinner with the natives, followed by a night of camping.

Day 3: Bouchrik- Beach of Sidi Daoued (47 km). Breakfast and departure from Bouchrik. Barbecue on the beach of Harbour Princes. Passage by the beach of Rtiba. Arrive at the beach of Sidi Daoued. Dinner and night of camping at the beach.

Day 4: Beach of Sidi Daoued- Kerkouane (22 km). Breakfast and departure from the beach of Sidi Daoued. Cross the forest of Oued Laabid. Move to the forest of Dar Chicho U. Arrive at Kerkouane. Barbecue and night of camping at Kerkouane.

Day 5: Day of rest at Kerkouane. Breakfast at the camp of Kerkouane. Visit the archaeological site of Kerkouane. Visit old olive trees at Dar Allouche. Visit the caves of El Haouaria. Eat at one of the restaurants of Kelibia. Dine and night at the camp of Kerkouane.

Day 6: Kerkouane- Menzel Temime (21 km) Breakfast and departure from Kerkouane. Visit the cemetery Harouri. Passage by the beach of Sidi Jameleddine. Arrive at the beach of Menzel Temime. Dine and night at the beach of Menzel Temime.

Day 7: Menzel Temime - Club Caballus (35 km) Breakfast at the beach of Menzel Temime.V isit the mausoleums of Sidi Salem and Sidi Salmane. Visit the museum of Khali Azaeiz. Departure from Menzel Temime. Passage by the beach of Korba. Arrive at the Club Caballus. Transfer from the club to the hotel by minibus. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 8: Departure from the Tunis - Carthage Airport. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport by minibus. Departure from the airport.



Participant guidelines

Accompanist of equestrian tourism:

Two accompanists of equestrian tourism will be responsible of the supervision and management of the group.

 They will have first for mission the location of the itineraries of the raid.  They will note all difficulties and the necessary time to accomplish it according to the level of the riders.  t o They will be so responsible of the good sequence of the raid.  In fact, They will have to check the state of the mountings and prepare equipment (harnesses, Saddle and éperons…) to guarantee the security of the riders.  If necessary, they will practice elementary cares.

 These accompanists will have at last the mission to do to discover to the group the crossed region, some to explain the curiosities and play fully their role of coordinator.
 
 Palefreniers:  Two palefreniers will be responsible of discussion, nutrition and lavished cares to the horses. 

Other disclosures

The equestrian raid addresses itself to riders having a good mastery of horses, especially in a wild environment. It is necessary to be comfortable to the three paces (steps, trots and gallop). The days generally will be structured thus: two to three hours on the horse, break to eat and then again two to three hours on the horse.
